Crappie Fishing Report Date: 04/26/08

Crappie fishing is good... - I fished today 04/26/08 with clients Cory Singleton and Matt Rogers we ended the day with a good stringer of crappie. Crappie guide Allen McDowell was also on the water today with clients Wendell Rogers and Monte Gravunder they also had a good stringer of crappie. Decent numbers of fish are still coming from 4 to 6 feet of water trolling shallow water flats with isolated stumps. Pulling 1/32 oz jig heads using Southern Pro Hot Grubs in Sour Grape, Popsicle and Black/Blue Chartreuse have been working good this week. Better stringers of crappie are coming shooting docks in 6 to 8 feet of water using a 1/24 oz jig head with a Southern Pro Stinger in Black / Blue Chartreuse tail. Long Line Trolling is still working fair catching post spawn crappie and some nice male crappie. One more technique that is working good is the Fly and Cork rig fished around two feet deep targeting shallow water lay downs and stumps. If your coming to Weiss Lake don't forget your B'n'M Sharp Shooter... "Good Fishin"

Bass Fishing is good...   -  Catching good Bass flipping shallow water 1 to 3 feet deep. Most Bass are holding shallow either spawning are getting ready to spawn. Shallow water sea walls with rocks is producing some good Bass. A Black/Blue 3/8 oz. Bo Jig and a solid Chartreuse 3/8 oz. Spinner Bait are both still working good this week and should continue to work through out the spawn. Carolina Rigging shallow water points with a Zoom Water Melon Seed trick worm is also producing good spotted Bass. It took 19 + pounds to win the Weiss Lake Championship tournament today.  "Good Fishin"
